Helena Guglielmino [pronounced in bad English as ghoul-you-meano] is a hiker, backpacker, and explorer of anywhere her lab mix leads her. She is a creative writer, focusing on outdoor adventure, environment, and culture. Her first book, Urban Trails: Reno, Nevada, is set to publish fall 2025 from Mountaineers Books.
When not writing, but most especially while writing, she enjoys basking in the fantasies of unturned stones and far-off lands. For now, though, she’s enjoying the wild areas, both urban and not, that surround her high desert home – especially if it means a plate of poutine will be involved.
Helena has been published in Reno News & Review, Save the Redwoods League, Yoga Journal, Roadtrippers, Outdoors Unlimited, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, edible Reno-Tahoe, and more. Read her recent work here.
